Dear
Parents,
We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for allowing us to
minister to you and your child. At Powers Memorial Baptist Church, it is
our goal to see your child come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and
to grow in that relationship. We want church to be a fun place – a place
where learning comes to life. We hope that the lessons learned and the
relationships made here would make a positive and eternal impact in the
life of you and your family. Through the ministries provided and as we
partner with parents, we pray that children who “graduate” from the
Children’s Ministry will be students of God’s Word as well as doers. We
want kids to know and experience the value of daily Bible reading,
Scripture memory, and Christian service – in church, their community, and
in the world. God bless you…we are so glad you are here.
Joyfully Serving Him,
The Children’s Ministry
MINISTRIES OFFERED -
SUNDAY MORNINGS
9:45 Sunday School

This is
a time for children to learn lessons from the Bible, develop
Bible skills,
have fun, and realize how the Bible is relevant in their
lives today. We also encourage the classes to participate in various
community service/missions projects throughout the year and have social
outings to build relationships with their teachers and classmates.
11:15-12:00 Children’s
Church/Choir
2nd, 3rd, and 5th Sundays
Children’s Church is an exciting time for kids (4 year old – 4th grade) to
worship the Lord through music, videos, puppetry, skits, etc. Kids are
learning the joy of worship. On most Sunday mornings, Dr. Breckenridge
will present a biblical-based, object lesson for the children. Church
will never be called “boring” again!

For all youth grades 4
through college, and adults who want to be a part of the Ministry.
Come help bring our puppets to life. For further information, please

WEDNESDAY EVENINGS
7:00 – 8:00 Children’s Activities
Faithful, dedicated and talented volunteer workers offer a
variety of activities which include songs, crafts and games. Each activity
is designed to teach children biblical principles.
VACATION BIBLE
SCHOOL
Vacation Bible School is a highlight for many kids during the summer, but
the impact doesn’t end in the summer – it’s eternal. Children of all ages
learn through many different activities and methods, and they’ll be
talking (and singing) about it for months.
Centri-Kid Camp

Centri-Kid offers a quality Christian camp
experience for children who have completed grades 3-6, combining quality
worship with age-appropriate activities designed-from start to finish-to
reach children with the message of Jesus Christ. Campers are greeted each
morning with a high-energy celebration that'll shake away those
sleepy-eyed yawns! Small-group Bible study follows the morning
celebration, helping each child focus on the theme for the day and life
application of God's word. From there, campers choose from a variety of
creative and exciting courses-known as "tracks" - that allow them the
opportunity to develop their talents and interests. Tracks include: Praise
Team, Creative Painting, Water Sports, Outdoor Adventure, Music,
Backpacking, Clowning, Messy Games, Archery, Team Sports, Jewelry Making,
Fishing, and more! Each evening, there is a powerful, camp-wide worship
that helps participants recognize and reflect on the biblical truths and
life applications they've learned throughout their day. Of course, there
are plenty of camp-wide fellowships, recreation, and time to spend with
others from your own church. Centri-Kid Camp is held yearly. For
dates, please contact the church office at 458-1251.
CENTRIFUGE CAMP
For youth, Grades 7 to college. They are open-centered around the
youth groups of Christian churches, particularly (though not exclusively)
Baptist churches. The camps offer a "staff who does the work so that
your youth staff are free to deepen their relationships with both students
and God."
The goal of Centrifuge staff is to present
the gospel of Jesus Christ in the way we act, the way we teach, the way we
interact with students. Showing a living lesson of Jesus Christ
lived out makes a difference to these students. The Centrifuge
concept began in 1979 as an alternative camping experience for 7th though
12th graders. It was designed to mix teens and youth leaders from
across the nation in fast-paced Bible study, recreation, worship and
soul-searching before separating them out to return to their own churches
and homes with renewed spirits and strengthened relationships. Bible
study and different track sessions mix students from different youth
groups, and recreation is designed not so much as a competition but as a
way to learn important lessons about God.
Other activities
are offered throughout the year for fun, for relationship-building, for
spiritual development, and for outreach purposes.
