Welcome,
You may be wondering, "What is a Parish Nurse Ministry?" Simply put, it is nurses who combine their faith and their profession to promote health and wellness in their church and their community. At Powers Memorial Baptist Church, we have several nurses who serve in this capacity. Because we are nurses, we have the knowledge and the skills to help others with some of their healthcare concerns. Because we are Christians, our purpose is to serve others in times of need as Jesus did during His ministry. The Parish Nurse Ministry offers a variety of activities and services that can contribute to the overall wellness of one's mind, body and spirit. Parish nursing is high touch and low tech. We offer support, guidance and a lot of hugs.

	Provide a listening ear and prayerful presence in times of need.

	Home Visiting Team: visiting the homes of church members who are not able to attend church on a regular basis.
	New Baby Ministry: Welcoming new babies into the church family, whether by birth or adoption, providing support and professional advice to parents at this important time in their lives.
